A new privacy study by IMDEA Networks, "Prompt like a Butterfly, Sting like a Tracker," analyzed nine AI chatbots in May 2026: ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Grok, DeepSeek, Perplexity, Le Chat, Meta AI, and Copilot. The study, accepted at PoPETs 2027, found that some of these chatbots share user data with third-party trackers like Meta, TikTok, and Google, raising concerns among users who trust specific AI providers like Anthropic with their data.
