UBI never gonna happen, here’s why
The author argues that Universal Basic Income (UBI) is an unrealistic concept, a "fairytale" promoted by tech figures to delay the inevitable. They suggest that a democratic world government could enforce UBI, a flat global tax, and universal share ownership in AI companies to prevent economic arbitrage. The author believes governments still have the power to implement such solutions, but time is limited, and a less optimistic outcome is also possible.
This post argues against UBI as a solution, unlike many discussions that focus on its implementation, and instead proposes a democratic world government as the only viable path.
