Nvidia investing $1.5B in SoftBank data center developer behind OpenAI project

Nvidia is investing $1.5 billion in a SoftBank-backed data center developer, which is building a facility for OpenAI near Cincinnati, Ohio. This investment makes Nvidia the exclusive provider of compute infrastructure for the OpenAI data center. Additionally, Nvidia will extend up to $105 billion in credit to support the construction of the facility, which is projected to expand from 4.25 gigawatts to 8 gigawatts.
