Show HN: Sphinx – A hook that quizzes you on your AI's code before shipping
Sphinx is a free, FOSS Git hook designed for agent-assisted development. It quizzes developers on their AI's code before shipping, ensuring understanding. Compatible with various coding agents and OpenAI-compatible endpoints, Sphinx pauses Git pushes on protected branches to ask questions based on the code diff. Users answer, and if correct, the push proceeds. It supports Node 22.19+ on macOS, Linux, or WSL, and can be installed via npm install -g sphinx-understand.
Unlike traditional code review, Sphinx integrates directly into the Git push workflow, quizzing developers on AI-generated code before it ships.
