The FTC is investigating OpenAI, Anthropic, and other AI companies regarding product risks. This comes as President Donald Trump convened top executives from companies including Alphabet, Meta, SpaceX, Nvidia, Palantir, Anthropic, and OpenAI to discuss AI safety. The group signed a voluntary, nonbinding accord emphasizing each company's responsibility to develop technology safely and build public trust.

This marks the first time the FTC has publicly confirmed investigations into multiple leading AI developers over product risks, unlike previous, more general inquiries.
