Claude Desktop: Is Opus 5.5 Extra High using up my 5-hour limit almost as fast as my weekly limit?
A user of Claude Desktop app version 3.6556.2 is questioning if there's a bug or a change in usage limits, as their 5-hour limit appears to be consumed almost as quickly as their weekly limit. They observed that using Opus 5.5 with Extra High effort in a single session consumed 3% of their 5-hour limit, which surprisingly translated to 2% of their weekly limit, leading them to believe the limits are disproportionately restrictive.
This report is the first to highlight a potential disproportionate consumption rate between Claude's 5-hour and weekly usage limits, unlike general discussions about overall limit strictness.

Could you explain whether there is a bug in Claude Desktop or whether the usage limits have changed? My 5-hour usage limit is almost as restrictive as my weekly limit.
I have only one and the first session running today after resets, using Opus 5.5 with Extra High effort.
I'm honestly shocked that using only 3% of my 5-hour limit has consumed 2% of my weekly limit.
