ChatGPT and discrete math - better now?
A software engineering student is seeking feedback on ChatGPT's current ability to tutor discrete mathematics. Having failed a discrete math course in 2024 despite using ChatGPT as a tutor, the student plans to retake the exam in Fall 2025. They are interested in recent experiences, specifically from mid-2025 to the present, to determine if ChatGPT has improved sufficiently to serve as an effective tutor for their upcoming exam, as an alternative to a university tutor.

So in 2024 I used ChatGpt as a tutor for my discrete maths course (part of my software engineering bachelors degree), reason being full time job and studies, not being able to participate in lectures. Unfortunately I did not pass the course that fall.
Anyway, back then it struggled a lot with solving the more complex tasks in the maths course, and it just spit out different explanations each time, none of them being correct.
2 years have passed and I need to take the exam again this fall. I really want to use GPT as a tutor this time instead of paying for a tutor at university, but, my question is if someone here has hands on experience with ChatGPT and discrete math post 2024? I’m talking from mid 2025 until today?
