I told Claude I like Bach and synths: Contrapunctus Acidus by Opus 5.5
A user collaborated with Claude 5.5 to create "Contrapunctus Acidus," a piece blending Bach-inspired counterpoint with synth sounds. This project emerged from a Rust/FunDSP synth engine development for a game soundtrack, where generated tracks began to incorporate canons. Claude composed the score as a program, checked counterpoint with a script, and rendered it using a FunDSP synth engine, iteratively refining the piece based on measurements since it cannot hear.
Unlike typical AI music generation, Claude 5.5 here composed the score as a program, then iteratively refined it by checking counterpoint with a script and measuring the FunDSP synth engine output.
