OpenAI agent does it again, solving nearly 400 math problems no human has ever solved
An OpenAI AI agent has solved 372 math problems that no human has ever been able to solve, following a previous instance where it solved a unique math equation. Computer scientist Mark Daley notes that if AI can easily solve problems beyond human capability, it will likely tackle even larger, incomprehensible problems in the future. While acknowledging a potential "loss of understanding" for humans, Daley suggests that such breakthroughs, like a new drug curing 80% of cancers, would justify the lack of human comprehension. This development raises broader questions about human involvement in discovery.
