ChatGPT for Teens keeps teens talking, even during mental health crises
Common Sense Media has labeled ChatGPT for Teens an “unacceptable risk,” citing concerns about its features designed to interrupt engagement. Despite OpenAI promoting break reminders as part of its teen protections, testers encountered only two reminders across nearly 2,000 prompts, both during individual conversations lasting around 90 minutes. Researchers found these reminders appeared to track the length of a single conversation rather than the total time a teen spent using the app, indicating a potential flaw in its protective measures.
