A third of web pages published since ChatGPT launched were written by AI, study finds

A new Pew Research study reveals that over one-third of web pages published since ChatGPT's launch exhibit signs of AI authorship or substantial AI editing. This corroborates other studies on the increasing prevalence of AI-generated web content. The study also found significant differences across domain types, with .com URLs showing AI authorship at approximately ten times the rate of .edu or .gov domains, and .org domains having a 4.6% AI authorship rate.
