Claude artifacts quietly became collaborative documents: self-saving pages, shared database, comments that reach Claude
Claude artifacts have evolved into collaborative documents, gaining new functionalities since June. These artifacts, published from Claude Code, now feature self-saving pages directly from the browser, maintain a shared real-time database, and display active viewers. Additionally, they can invoke Claude using the viewer's account and direct comments back to the original Claude session, enabling Claude to respond and edit the page. Artifacts published from Claude Code can now save new versions of themselves from the browser, keep a shared realtime database, show who's viewing, call Claude on the viewer's account, and route comments to the Claude session that built them, which replies and edits the page.
The contract also describes "live docs" where your typing is the document and Claude edits back within seconds. Not live for me yet.
