Economic policy for AGI

Growing anxiety about AI's impact on jobs and the economy is a major concern, even before its effects appear in economic data. Policy interventions are being considered to manage technological displacement. These include targeted labor-market and wage interventions like Active Labour Market Policies (ALMPs), Wage Insurance, and a Federal Jobs Guarantee. Additionally, universal floors and services such as Negative Income Tax (NIT), Universal Basic Income (UBI), Sovereign AI Dividend, and Universal Basic Services (UBS) are proposed to address the economic shifts brought by AI.
