Qwen3-0.6B (400 MB) on a Samsung Note 8 (2017) phone drives a real desktop Chrome

A Qwen3-0.6B model, weighing 400 MB, was successfully run on a 2017 Samsung Note 8 phone to drive a real desktop Chrome browser. This experiment, which involved 12 small models and 3 verifiable tasks, demonstrated that even without fine-tuning and on older hardware, a sub-1B model could achieve this. While similar effects were previously shown for GPT-4 class models and fine-tuned smaller models, this test pushed the boundaries by using an extremely small model on a 2017 phone.

Unlike previous demonstrations with larger or fine-tuned models, this report uniquely tests a sub-1B model on a 2017 phone without fine-tuning.
