Mathematicians want proof OpenAI didn’t use their work

Mathematician Andreas Thom has accused OpenAI of unethical and dishonest behavior, questioning the transparency of their training data. This follows a previous dispute regarding the use of unpublished work. Thom suggests that interactions he and colleagues had with ChatGPT may have contributed to OpenAI's mathematical discoveries, specifically noting a result in his area of expertise, non-sofic groups, which OpenAI acknowledged built on his and Gábor Kun's prior work.
