Perplexity has introduced Hybrid Compute for all users of its Mac app. This new feature splits tasks between a frontier, cloud model and a local LLM. The local LLM is designed to handle sensitive information, ensuring privacy. This approach could also help in reducing operational costs. Perplexity had previously debuted Perplexity Computer in February.
