Tencent releases Octop, a self-hosted AI assistant
Tencent has released Octop, an open-source, self-hosted AI assistant designed for individuals, families, and teams. It features a multi-agent architecture that fosters an independent and collaborative intelligent environment. Octop runs entirely on your machine, ensuring privacy, and offers a single-process startup for its web console, CLI, and IM integrations. It provides various interfaces including a web dashboard, desktop client, CLI, HTTP/SSE/WebSocket API, and remote desktop control, deployable via desktop app or Docker.
Unlike many cloud-based AI assistants, Tencent's Octop is fully self-hosted, emphasizing privacy and local execution with a single-process startup for its various interfaces.
