Jev already has an open-weight competitor - Deem 9b

LibertAI has released Deem, an open-weight alternative to Jev, built on Qwen3.5-9B. While Deem 9b scores 68.9% on extended reasoning benchmarks compared to Jev's 74.1%, its emergence as an open model in this new category is notable. A 0.8B version of Deem is also available, capable of running on a CPU, which could facilitate local experimentation and development.

This marks the first time an open-weight model has emerged as a direct competitor to Jev, unlike earlier proprietary alternatives.
