Meta AI apparently not smart enough to listen to the entire song
A Reddit user criticized Meta AI's advertising, specifically a YouTube ad featuring David Bowie's song "Five Years." The user pointed out a significant cognitive dissonance between the song's apocalyptic theme, which describes an imminent global catastrophe, and Meta's ad, which promotes the "wonder and humanness" of its AI. The user suggested that Meta apparently did not listen to the entire song, given its dire message, which ironically mirrors concerns some have about uncontained AI.
Why this oneThis critique highlights a specific oversight in Meta's AI advertising, unlike general discussions about AI ethics, by pointing out the ironic mismatch between a chosen song's lyrics and the ad's message.

There is a Meta ad all over youtube now proclaiming the wonder and humanness of their AI to a soundtrack of David Bowie's "Five Years". Apparently, no on at Meta has actually listened to the entire song. For those who are unfamiliar with it, Five Years describes a world where the singer laments an apocalypse that is both certain and imminent. Not unlike the apocalypse some have predicted if things like MetaAI are not contained immediately.

Joined subreddit solely to post this as the cognitive dissonance between the message of the song and the message of the ad was simply too much.
