Strata rewrote their Github history to wipe evidence of Claude-authoring
Strata has reportedly rewritten its GitHub history, removing "Co-Authored by Claude" text from commit descriptions. A user discovered this when a built-in "UPDATE" script failed due to a lack of a common ancestor in the git history. This action has been criticized as potentially dishonest, suggesting an intent to obscure the origins of the project and the involvement of AI in its authorship.
This report uniquely highlights a specific instance of a company rewriting its entire GitHub history to remove AI co-authorship, unlike general discussions of AI ethics.

Just noticed this today when I went to run the built-in "UPDATE" script and git failed because there was no common ancestor.
Looked into why, and apparently every historical commit has been re-written to strip the "Co-Authored by Claude" text from the descriptions.
Personally I think that's pretty gross. I'm struggling to think of any reason to do this other than an intention to be dishonest about the origins of the project.
