UN turns to Google to make its global data ready for AI agents
The United Nations is collaborating with Google to enhance the accessibility and usability of its extensive global statistics for AI systems. This initiative aims to streamline how AI agents can interact with and process UN data. The collaboration involves testing various AI models, including OpenAI’s GPT-4o and GPT-4o-mini, Anthropic’s Claude Sonnet 4.5 and Haiku 4.5, and Google’s Gemini 2.5 Flash and Gemini 2.0 Flash, to ensure broad compatibility and effectiveness in data utilization.
This collaboration marks the first time the UN is explicitly working with a major tech company to prepare its data for AI agents, unlike previous, less integrated data initiatives.
