I emptied my trash with a Blender project inside — ChatGPT located the SSD sectors and rebuilt it
A user accidentally deleted a Blender project and emptied their recycling bin. Traditional recovery tools failed or required payment. However, the exact procedural scripts for the project were found in Codex session logs. These scripts were reconstructed and rerun in Blender 5.2.2, resulting in a project with 146 groups, 926 objects, and 284,304 vertices, matching the original lost scene. The new .blend file, complete with embedded scripts and textures, was successfully validated in Blender.
Unlike traditional file recovery that failed, this report details using Codex session logs to reconstruct a Blender project from procedural scripts, a novel approach.
