Need an app but no coding experience?

AI summary

A user with no coding experience seeks to develop a dedicated app for their school community, currently relying on WhatsApp for sharing documents, study tips, and old exams. They envision an app that can organize PDF file sharing and facilitate chat about assignments. Lacking the time to learn coding or access to developers, they are considering using AI tools like ChatGPT or Claude to code the app and are asking for advice on the feasibility of this approach.

Why this one

This post highlights a common challenge for non-developers, unlike earlier discussions that focused more on AI's role in assisting experienced coders.

Hi everyone. For context, i have a community in my school where we share documents, study tips, old exams etc. And we've been using whatsapp so far, but i really want our own app where we can organize everything from sharing pdf files to chatting about upcoming assignments. The thing is, i have no coding experience, nor do i know anyone that does, and i frankly don't have the time to learn the necessities to be able to create an app. So i'm asking if It's a good idea to use chatgpt or claude or any other ai sources to code it for me, and if it's even possible to ask such a thing. Thank you all for your time
