Anthropic launches free AI security scans for open-source projects

Anthropic has launched a new free service called OSS Scanner, which offers periodic security scans for open-source projects using its "strongest models," including Mythos. This service aims to help projects identify vulnerabilities faster, though the reports are fully model-generated without human review, meaning they might occasionally be incorrect or invalid. This initiative comes as AI tools have increasingly assisted in finding significant security flaws in open-source software, yet some projects struggle with the volume of AI-generated bug reports.
