mlsubgen — subtitles in 45 languages for your videos, entirely on your own machine
mlsubgen is a new tool designed to generate subtitles in 45 languages for videos, running entirely on the user's own machine. Developed with the help of Fable, the tool has been thoroughly tested and is now available on GitHub. mlsubgen has high hardware requirements, needing 16-32 GB of system memory and 30-65 GB of storage for models. It also offers GPU profiles for 8 GB, 12 GB, and 16 GB VRAM. Developers encourage users to try the tool and submit issue feedback.
Unlike cloud-based solutions, mlsubgen performs all subtitle generation locally, offering 45 languages and specific GPU profiles for various VRAM configurations.
