A developer created an interactive demo to visualize how a neural network learns different functions. Users can modify the network's architecture and the function it attempts to approximate. The demo illustrates that a fully-connected network with ReLU activations produces a piecewise linear function. For a single-layer network, the maximum number of segments is 1 plus the layer's width; for example, a hidden layer with "3" units can create up to 4 segments.
