What is AI agents actually useful for?

AI summary

They expressed skepticism about the value of personalized agents and the concept of managing tasks through a chat interface, noting that while everyone discusses these agents, their real-world application remains unclear, excluding specialized scientific or mathematical work.

Why this one

This post stands out as it directly challenges the perceived utility of AI agents for everyday tasks, unlike most discussions that focus on their potential.

Obviously, I’m not talking about vibe coding or scientific/math frontier work, but I’m thinking more as in like day-to-day for me as a private person or for me as an employee. Right now, for example, everyone is talking about dots and personalised agents But I cannot see the actual value in my day-to-day life. Like why would I put my tasks behind a chat interface?

Edit: yesyes, typo in the title.. I changed the title right before posting, and didn’t spot it. English is bot my first language
