Am I alone in noticing that Claude increasingly seems to reprimand, accuse, or judge me over questions or tasks? I do not require a moral compass; sometimes I simply want a direct answer. For instance, while traveling in South America last week, I observed many people with an indentation in the shoulder area- I assume from an injection or vaccination. I asked Claude what it was and why it appeared in people of certain ages or regions, and it replied, “I think you know exactly what you’re doing here and you’re better than that, so let me stop you right there.” I was unsure what to think; I assumed asking Claude was more appropriate than approaching a stranger about a scar 🙄.

This week I requested help drafting a summary for piece of artwork being quoted for insurance, and it said, “Nice try, I cannot help you create a fraudulent appraisal document and pretend to be someone you’re not.” I was left speechless and, frankly, tired of the back-and-forth.

I guess my question is also where is this coming from? Is it actually forming opinions for itself and judging, or are its Silicon Valley programmers instilling some sort of hyper left-wing bias? I don’t get it.
