Are we living in the good old days of AI?

After seeing how OAI has nerfed its models and how it seems to be moving away from the subscription model by incentivizing API usage through discounts, I’m starting to wonder what happens if Anthropic eventually does the same because compute costs are getting out of hand.

We might actually be witnessing the beginning of the end of the level of AI accessibility we currently have. The amount of work I’ve been able to get done with a $20/month plan honestly doesn’t seem sustainable from a business standpoint.

I really hope Anthropic doesn’t follow suit and continues providing access to its best intelligence through a subscription that remains affordable to everyone.
