Base Labs launches an open-weight AI safety partnership with Hugging Face and Goodfire

Baseten, through its Base Labs research arm, has launched a new safety infrastructure standard for open-weight AI models. This initiative involves partnerships with Hugging Face and Goodfire AI, focusing on building safety evaluation and monitoring infrastructure. Baseten, an AI inference provider, recently raised a $1.5 billion Series F, achieving a $13 billion valuation, while Goodfire AI secured a $150 million Series B to advance its model interpretability platform.

This partnership marks the first time major AI players like Baseten, Hugging Face, and Goodfire AI are collaborating to establish a unified safety standard for open-weight models.
