ChatGPT can now send texts for you with new Apple Messages plug-in

OpenAI has launched an Apple Messages plug-in for ChatGPT, allowing users to connect their Messages inbox with the chatbot. While this enables ChatGPT to send texts, OpenAI clarified that it does not create a full index of a user’s messages. The plug-in runs locally, and ChatGPT only reads messages upon specific user request. Users must enable Full Disk Access for the app to function, granting it read and write access to files on their device.
