Advanced Micro Devices Inc. (AMD) has agreed to acquire Fei-Fei Li's World Labs for $8.2 billion in an all-stock deal. This acquisition is expected to close by year-end. As part of the agreement, Fei-Fei Li will join AMD as Executive Vice President (EVP) and chief scientist, bringing her expertise from the artificial intelligence startup to the chipmaker.
