Microsoft has released a 37-page "humanist AI code of conduct" in response to growing safety concerns surrounding AI development. This move comes after Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei called for a slowdown in AI progress, citing worries that advanced AI models could outpace our ability to safely manage them. Microsoft AI CEO Mustafa Suleyman has previously criticized Anthropic's speculation about AI model consciousness as "really, really dangerous."

Unlike Anthropic's focus on AI consciousness, Microsoft's code of conduct emphasizes human-centric safety, marking a different approach to AI ethics.
