CERN and Mistral sign a statement of intent to establish a strategic partnership

CERN and Mistral have signed a statement of intent to establish a strategic partnership, aiming to advance AI for science and strengthen Europe's scientific and technological capabilities. A key objective is to develop a single pretrained Large Physics Model, the first foundation model for collider physics. This model will be trained on billions of simulated proton-proton collisions from CERN's Large Hadron Collider (LHC) to support tasks like reconstructing particle collisions, identifying particles, flagging unexpected signals, and evaluating future detector designs.
