NVIDIA Corporation developed Nemotron-Labs-3-Competitive-Coding, a competitive-programming model based on Nemotron-3-Ultra. Fine-tuned on 477,642 synthetic reasoning traces from GLM-5.2, it was evaluated live on the IOI 2026 problem set. Combined with GenCorrect, an iterative closed-loop test-time compute strategy, the model scored 535.4 out of 600, surpassing the gold-medal threshold (361.12) and the top human contestant's score (498.27), making it the first AI to outscore the highest-scoring human on an IOI problem set.

This marks the first time an AI system has surpassed the highest-scoring human contestant on an IOI problem set, unlike previous AI attempts that only met gold-medal thresholds.
