Apple’s lawsuit against OpenAI just took a wild turn.
Apple says a forensic examination of former engineer Chang Liu’s MacBook uncovered what it calls “shocking evidence” — including allegations that confidential Apple engineering files were not only downloaded, but actually used during work at OpenAI.
In this video, we break down the four biggest claims Apple is making, the alleged messages about destroying evidence, how iCloud may have helped uncover part of the trail, and why the AI angle could be the most important part of this entire story.
Apple argues that if proprietary information is fed into an AI agent or model, simply deleting the original file may not undo what that AI system has already learned. And that could have much bigger implications for the entire tech industry.
Of course, these are still allegations from Apple and have not been proven in court. OpenAI has pushed back on the lawsuit and called for it to be dismissed.
What do you think — is the alleged use of Apple’s confidential schematic the biggest part of this story, or is the AI trade-secret issue even more concerning? Join this channel to get access to perks: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UChjRM_qQAaOAiLNbOGbYcRA/join
