Google courts Disney, Universal, WBD to license IP for AI

Google executives have reportedly approached Disney, Universal, and Warner Bros. Discovery, among other studios, to license intellectual property for AI models. While no agreements have been finalized, this move is seen by some as Google's attempt to "take the high road" and foster partnerships between Hollywood and its AI platform. Others, however, draw parallels to YouTube's early days, suggesting Google might be allowing its AI to develop widely before studios are compelled to engage, reminiscent of the 2007 Viacom lawsuit against YouTube.
