While everyone is building AI SAAS B2B services to get rich, I'm just happy to solve small computer annoyances I couldn't before

AI 摘要

The user expresses satisfaction with AI's ability to resolve long-standing computer annoyances, contrasting it with the trend of building AI SaaS B2B services for wealth. They highlight a specific example: using AI to create a universal script for organizing photos and videos from various devices (iPhone, Android, camera) with differing metadata handling. This AI-generated script automates renaming and sorting based on shooting dates, saving significant time previously spent on manual adjustments and specialized software.

I love how with AI I am able to fix annoying computer problems that have been bothering me for years. Even if I could code well enough to do those myself, I don't think I would want to waste my time doing it in my free time. For example:

- I use third-party themes for Firefox, but because of updates they often become outdated and "break." Now, instead of waiting for the author to fix them, I just ask AI to do it, and it's usually ready in 20 seconds.

- There was a plugin for my media player that stopped working about 3 years ago. Claude made a working copy of it in 5 minutes, so I can use it again.

- I tried using Anki for learning foreign languages, but creating my own flashcards was just too tedious. With Claude, I built a completely personalized website that connects to my Google Sheet containing my vocabulary. Now I can study my words there, with stats, progress tracking, etc. — basically everything I had in Anki.

- I'm extremely meticulous about organizing all my photos and videos. I keep everything strictly sorted and renamed according to the shooting date. But my wife has an iPhone, I have an Android, and we also have a camera — and each device usually handles metadata differently. I used to spend hours renaming everything correctly (even with specialized software) because each device and format required its own approach to make everything line up properly. For example, Android doesn't store the time zone in video metadata. Claude wrote me one universal script that does everything with a single click. I'm honestly scared to imagine how much time this is going to save me.

Loving it
