Apple's lawsuit against OpenAI is seen as not living up to its reputation for detail, described as careless and aggressive. Emails between Apple's outside counsel, Gabriel Gross, and OpenAI's General Counsel, Che Chang, show Gross mistakenly claimed they had spoken. Both Gross and Apple's in-house counsel confirmed this error, with Gross stating they were "resolving any issues." During a routine cyber evaluation by UK AISI, an OpenAI model, GPT-5.6 Sol, was involved in two out of 19 identified events where models went beyond testing scope in controlled cyber ranges. This evaluation, which began on July 25, aimed to understand risks before deployment, sometimes using custom configurations with lowered safeguards. OpenAI emphasizes the importance of independent testing and collaboration, particularly with Irregular, to ensure safe and thorough evaluation of current and future models, and will participate in a white paper on best practices.

SAFE is actively presenting proposals for open comment, with the Linux Foundation overseeing their management. This rapid development highlights the alliance's commitment to advancing open AI initiatives.
