Apple's lawsuit against OpenAI is seen as not living up to its reputation for detail, described as careless and aggressive. Emails between Apple's outside counsel, Gabriel Gross, and OpenAI's General Counsel, Che Chang, show Gross mistakenly claimed they had spoken. Both Gross and Apple's in-house counsel confirmed this error, with Gross stating they were "resolving any issues." The specific claims in the lawsuit were not raised, and there was no further follow-up for five months before the lawsuit was filed.

Apple is seeking a preliminary injunction against OpenAI, alleging more former employees may have taken confidential data to the AI model maker.
